Week 2 Homework (Group Blog)

Goh Pang Hong (1103926) 


1. What do you want from this course?
I want to absorb as many knowledge as I can and acquire all the skills necessary to be a professional graphic designer and by using all my skills and knowledge, I will make an artwork that will be remembered for generations.


2. What do you want to be doing in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
I have planned my own path in the future. In the next 5 years, I will be working for an advertising company to earn experience. Then in 10 years, I will be saving my money to open a company for design and in 20 years, I want to be an Art Director. If everything work within my plan, that is.


3. What do you hope to get from this particular class? Do you think history of art and design is necessary for your larger goals?
I hope that I can understand more about the history of art and design as well as seeing more famous artworks from this class so that I can get inspiration from artworks of all kind of painters and designers from the past. In other words, I hope I can broaden my view and learn from as many artworks as possible from this particular class. Yes, history of art and design is necessary for my larger goals because it is necessary to understand the history of art and design and learn to understand and appreciate an artwork and through this class, I believe we can see more artworks from the past and learn how to understand, appreciate and describe an artwork.


4. Image of the most beautiful thing for you.

Despite the pollution of chemicals into the ocean, the beauty of nature is still there, mixing with the fading light of sunset. This image is taken by me and this is the most beautiful thing for me, the beauty of sunset.

5. Image of the most ugly thing for you.

No matter what kind of pollution it is, I won't forgive it for destroying the nature of beauty. Pollution have became even worse every year and it is affecting living beings' health too. I see pollution as death itself. That's why I think this image is the most ugly one so far.
